I lead product at SH1P, an early-stage founder accelerator. I work with the CEO, manage builders, and advise founders on their products.
An accelerator to get into accelerators
We built SH1P to help founders get ready for their next accelerator. Alongside that work, we were building what we called ‘Duolingo for founders’: a product for learning how to start a company.
The product we chose to stop building
The accelerator was working. But we didn’t believe we could teach founding through the learning app. Discontinuing it was the hardest decision for me. We had put work into it, and scrapping it hurt.
Put the work where it could help
My product work at SH1P includes the website, accelerator operations, and working directly with founders on what to build. The learning app is part of that story too: a product decision can mean choosing to stop.
